↞ SYMBOLISM IN THE BODY↠

SYMBOLS + SIGNS ARE ALL AROUND YOU + WITHIN
PLACENTA
The placenta is an organ that resembles the tree of life. It is conceived at the moment of genesis to nourish and maintain the fetus.
HEART
Home is where the heart is. The heart is the first organ to develop in utero. Connect to your heart; it knows the story of your life, the love and the heart aches you have been through. Your heart is your inner compass- telling you when it’s safe to open up and fluttering when to be cautious or there is something new and exciting about to happen. Listen to your heart and speak your heart’s truth.
BLOOD TYPE
We all have a different heart and different blood types. Our hearts pump at different rates and our specific blood traveling through our veins and arteries to and from the heart. For example I have A+ blood which has higher levels of cortisol making me more prone to stress and it is advised I avoid high stress jobs and situations when possible.
LUNGS
On average we take about 20,000 breaths per day from the moment we are born and take our first breath to the moment we take our last breath and pass on. The trees are the lungs of the planet and the plants are the tiny air filters and purifiers. The anatomy of the lungs including the arteries, veins and alveoli mimic the anatomy of the trees with the branches, leaves and roots. The veins also mimic the rivers flowing through the Earth.
WATER
We are approximately 60% water and the oceans cover approximately 70% of the Earth’s surface now. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%. It is important to stay hydrated and keep the body, energy and emotions flowing. We want our waterways internally and externally clean, free of toxins and clear of debris.
INNER TIDES + MENSTRUAL CYCLES
The moon controls the tides of the ocean as it does control our inner tides and women’s menstrual cycles. The moon also reflects our emotions and affects our energy. Have you ever noticed that you have extra energy around a full moon?
ROOTED LIKE A TREE
Be like a tree. Trees have deep roots, are strong throughout their trunk and extend their branches in community and growth.
DAILY GROUNDING MEDITATION
It is easy to get caught in our head and monkey mind spinning in worry, fear and anxiety.
I recommend grounding daily: Connect with your breath, then bring your breath down to your feet and picture some nice supportive roots coming from your feet and rooting down through the top few layers of soil and continuing on to connect with the wood wide web of all the trees, plants and fungi from around the world and on to the center of the Earth. Feeling the support from below, support from above, ancestors supporting from behind and friends supporting side by side and a clear path in front of you to do whatever you choose.
When you are ready, bring that fresh energy up through your roots, up through your feet, up through your legs, knees, hips, abdomen, lower back, middle back, upper back, shoulders, arms and hands, up through your neck, head and crown. Then bring the energy down through your crown into your heart center.
With Love + Gratitude,
Megan
